We want you to have a great time on the Retro Rider. Planning something with more than just a few people requires some forethought. Here are some things to think about:
- Whoever contracts for the trip is responsible for conduct of the trip and party guests. Invite only those who you know will act responsibly and within some boundaries of control. You will be held responsible for damages by unruly guests and risk having the party terminated for unruly behaviours.
- If you are thinking about going here and there - You must consider how much time it will actually take. Here is the reality:
- We normally drive no faster than 50 mph for safety reasons.
- Loading your group can take as long as 30 minutes with stragglers and getting organised.
- You will need a restroom break going to your first venue... 20-25 people will need a minimum of 15-20 minutes.
- Rounding up everyone and loading up to go to the next venue will take much longer than you think it will. Generally it takes a minimum of 10 minutes to load 20 people...if they're all there to load up.
- The bus is a large vehicle. Sometimes we can't go the same way you would in a car!
- WEST SIXTH STREET in Cleveland - We may not drop off or pick up on 6th Street between Lakeshore and St Clair on Saturday evenings. Please don't even ask.
- No INDIVIDUAL BOTTLED beverages may be in the main cabin. Liquor bottles are okay - at the service counter only.
- NO JELLO SHOTS OF ANY COLOUR will be permitted on RetroRider buses. PLEASE!
- NO STYROFOAM COOLERS are allowed. They break easily and make a horrific mess!
- Do not bring sloppy, messy foods... salsa, spaghetti, soup, hummus dips -- stuff that spills and smears easily. We suggest cheese, cold cuts, veggie platters and cut sandwiches like hoagies. Cookies but not cakes. If you bring death-by-chocolate brownies you may be entitled to a discount!
- Please remember your driver. This is a tough job that requires many skills besides driving. There are two hours before and after each trip to get ready, deadheading the bus and clean-up afterwards. Lots of hours that you don't see. If you have not included a gratuity in your credit card billing, we trust you will be considerate as of any service person .. waiters, hair-dressers, etc. And if you have, thank you and your driver thanks you.
